The PDA Parenting Course: Crisis to Calm will help you understand the anxiety beneath your child's behaviour and give you practical, compassionate strategies that work with your child's nervous system — not against it. In nine easy-to-follow modules, I'll help you move from daily conflict, uncertainty and emotional exhaustion to calmer days, greater confidence, and a deeper understanding of your child — without punishment, power struggles, or trying to change who your child is.
Learn at your own pace with engaging, easy-to-follow video lessons that explain each concept in a practical and supportive way. Every lesson is designed to help you better understand autistic children and young people while giving you strategies you can apply immediately in everyday life.
Every lesson includes professionally designed PDF resources, checklists, reflection tools, and templates that reinforce your learning. These practical resources are yours to keep, making it easy to revisit key ideas and confidently put them into practice whenever you need them.
This course takes you on a structured transformation from understanding anxiety and behaviour to building calmer, more connected relationships. Whether you're a parent, educator, or family member, each lesson builds on the last, giving you the confidence, knowledge, and practical skills to support autistic children and young people with compassion and clarity.
This isn't another behaviour chart to add to the pile. Crisis to Calm is built around a framework I call Design for Belonging — helping you see the anxiety underneath the behaviour first, so the strategy that follows actually fits your child's nervous system instead of fighting it. The barrier is never the child. The barrier is the design. And when we change the design, everything begins to soften.
✔ Recognise the early signs of anxiety before they become a meltdown
✔ Know exactly what to do in those first critical moments when your child's nervous system becomes overwhelmed
✔ Reduce daily conflict with practical environmental adjustments — some take less than ten seconds
✔ Respond with confidence instead of second-guessing yourself
✔ Understand why traditional parenting approaches don't work for a PDA profile — and what does
✔ Repair and reconnect after difficult moments, without shame or blame
✔ Build a calmer, more connected family life — one small step at a time
This isn't another behaviour chart to add to the pile.
✔ Everyday moments — getting dressed, leaving the house, homework, bedtime — can turn into a crisis
✔ You have tried rewards, consequences, charts and stricter routines, but they either haven’t worked or have increased your child’s distress.
✔ You are exhausted from walking on eggshells and second-guessing what to say, when to step in and when to give your child space.
✔ You find yourself dreading school mornings, avoiding outings or constantly preparing for the next escalation.
✔ You want to understand the anxiety and need for autonomy beneath your child’s behaviour—not simply find another way to make them comply.
✔ You want practical ways to recognise overwhelm earlier, lower pressure, communicate more calmly and hold necessary boundaries while protecting safety, dignity and connection.
✔ You want a realistic 30-day plan that fits your child, your family and the situations you face in real life—from Tuesday afternoons to school mornings and shopping centres.
This course is probably not for you if you are looking for a punishment-based or compliance-focused behaviour program, a guaranteed quick fix, or a way to make your child obey every demand. It does not provide a PDA diagnosis or replace individual medical, psychological or therapeutic care.
How much time does the course take?
Lessons are deliberately short. Most parents work through one lesson at a time, applying one strategy before adding the next. This course may take 15 -30 hours to complete. There's no schedule and no falling behind — the course meets you where you are.
My child doesn't have a formal PDA diagnosis. Will this still help?
Yes. If the description on this page sounds like your home, the strategies will fit — they're built around the anxiety and nervous system patterns, not the paperwork.
Is this only for parents?
It's written for parents first, but grandparents, carers and educators use it too — Module 7 is specifically about getting home and school onto the same page.
What if I can't make the live calls?
Every call is recorded. Watch in your own time and send questions ahead if you like.
Do I get lifetime access?
Yes — all nine modules, recordings and resources are yours for the life of the course. All updates and additional content will also added.
What happens after the course?
The course stands completely on its own. And when you finish and want ongoing support — once a month there will be live calls with new content and up to date information.
You simply need a different lens — one that helps you see anxiety first, respond to the nervous system first, and discover that sometimes the smallest changes create the biggest transformations. I'd be honoured to walk alongside you.
